Her innings remains the highest individual score in any International Limited Overs match at Lord’s, beating the great Viv Richards’ 138 not out in the 1979 Men’s World Cup Final.
Taylor’s innings came off just 151 balls and helped England to a 100 run victory in a rain interrupted match. It was the fourth of her eight One-Day International centuries, the most ever by an English woman.
In 2008, she was the first woman to be named a Wisden Cricketer of the Year and was an integral member of the side that won both the 50-over ICC Women’s World Cup and Women’s World Twenty20 a year later, with the final of the latter taking place at the Home of Cricket.
