In what was Pakistan’s first-ever taste of success at Lord’s, Khan’s opening innings score set the perfect foundation for his side to secure history at the Home of Cricket.
His innings saw him hit 386 balls, scoring 23 fours with Pakistan eventually declaring with a mammoth total of 428/8 on the board.
Led by captain Imran Khan, Pakistan bowled England out for 227 and 276, meaning the visitors required a score of 76 runs to make history.
With Khan again at the crease alongside Javed Miandad, Pakistan secured a comfortable victory chasing the desired target of just 13.1 overs with both batsmen carrying their bat.
For Khan’s heroic performance, he was given the man-of-the-match award in a memorable Test match at Lord’s.
