It was Oram’s only century against England, although he did make a half-century on his first Test appearance at the Home of Cricket in 2004.

Daniel Vettori earned his second place on the Honours Boards with figures of 5 for 69 as England made 319.
Opener Jamie How had made a half-century for New Zealand in their second innings but the visitors were unsettled when McCullum was forced to retire hurt early in his innings at 120 for 4, which brought Oram to the crease.
Oram put on 131 with Daniel Flynn, and the all-rounder hit 15 fours and two sixes in his 101, a knock which comprised 121 balls. The match ended in a draw mainly due to the time lost in the game because of poor weather.
