C.J. McDermott 6-70 v EnglandBack to boards

Craig McDermott sealed his name up on the historical Lord’s Honours Boards during the second Ashes Test match of 1985 at The Home of Cricket.

Winning the toss and electing to field first the Aussies bowled England out for 290 on the back of a mammoth spell of 29.2 overs from McDermott picking up figures of 6-70. McDermott picked up the wickets of Tim Robinson, Graham Gooch, David Gower, Paul Downton, Phil Edmonds and Neil Foster.

Thanks to this brilliant effort from McDermott and batting heroics from Allan Border in the second and fourth innings, who won the player of the match award, Australia won the Test Match by four wickets.
